After watching The Scientist, a documentary about the award winning Research Scientist Dr. Mechoulam, it is not hard to imagine the many ways CBD Therapy might benefit Humanity. From making the nausea from Cancer Treatment more manageable, to treating epilepsy and other diseases, we are only beginning to understand its potential.
I first began considering CBD Therapy after a diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis. With my doctor’s initially prescribed treatment failing, I began searching on my own for a more holistic possibility with fewer side effects. It didn’t take me long to make the connection to CBD being a potential therapy. Although there is very little information available about this specific therapy, after seeing the initial results, my doctor encouraged me to pursue treatment for a six month trial.
Update: After exclusively treating my Rheumatoid Arthritis using CBD for several months, my treatment has now expanded to include some form of THC. Juicing Cannabis provides THCA, in the non-psychoactive form. While I have been limited in my ability to juice, I have been able to introduce THCA into my diet using Cannabis in a powdered (non-psychoactive) form. While it is possible for Cannabis, to a small degree, to decarboxylate (and turn into the psychoactive form) during the curing (drying) process, I have not yet experienced those effects. I am still not certain if cannabis will manage the long term effects of my RA, but the results so far are very promising. And the addition of THCA is dramatically reducing my symptoms.
While Dr. Mechoulam paved the way and created the foundation needed to inspire more specific studies, we still know very little about it effects upon a variety of illnesses. More studies are underway and trials on these diseases and conditions have begun: Diabetes, pain, insomnia, epilepsy, ADHD, anxiety, stress, rheumatoid arthritis, and PTSD. We are hopeful that there will be positive results that continue to support and expand Dr. Mechoulam’s work.
Consult your health care professional to see if CBD Therapy could be a potential treatment for you.
